The healing art of Reiki is a practise that restores health, harmony and balance throughout the body in a gentle and holistic way.

Universal life force energy or Ki is a subtle energy that flows throughout our body through meridians discovered over 5000 years ago by the ancient Chinese. Disease and other problems occur when there is a disturbance to this energy flow. These disturbances are often caused by upset in our emotions, mind or will.

During a Reiki treatment, energy is transmitted through the hands of the practitioner into the client, with focus being given to points within the energy field known as the chakras. Every client is different and every session is different and I work intuitively and sensitively, working where I am guided. The healing energy flows through the meridians of the body to wherever it is needed most, bringing relief to a wide range of ailments whether physical, mental or emotional.

Reiki is a completely safe and natural, holistic form of healing suitable for people of all ages. It can be used as a complementary healing practise on its own or in combination with many other therapies.

I have found that in many instances, the application of Reiki after an EFT treatment is especially effective. I believe that this is due to the fact that EFT clears negative energy or energy of a lower vibrational state that is held within our system. Reiki helps to replace this with positive, healing energy of a higher vibrational state.

Reiki is a non-invasive therapy and works through clothes, blankets and plaster casts. Different sensations can be felt during treatment such as warmth, cold or tingling. A feeling of calmness and well-being usually ensues. In fact many clients become so relaxed during a Reiki treatment they fall asleep.

Reiki is not affiliated with any religious dogma or practise. It is not based on belief, suggestion or faith, but on the direct experience of those who practise it.

The five main principles of Reiki, put in place by Dr Usui, the founder of the Reiki system are:-

Just for today, do not worry.

Just for today, do not anger.

Honour your parents, teachers and elders.

Earn your living honestly.

Show gratitude to every living thing.
